about my approach to magic. Here’s the full interview.Magic isn’t meant to be locked behind elitist jargon, archaic terminology, or secret hierarchies. It’s a living process, one that anyone can explore, refine, and personalize through direct experience. My work, my Substack, and my entire body of magical writing are all rooted in that core principle: magic works through experimentation, curiosity, and embodiment.
I’ve spent over three decades in the magical arts, and what I’ve found is that too often magicians are told to “just do magic” without understanding how it works. That mindset keeps practitioners dependent and confused, chasing mystery instead of mastering process. What I’m interested in is showing people why their magic works (or doesn’t) and how to make it consistent. Magic, at its heart, is a set of operating principles for turning possibilities into reality.

From Curiosity to Creation
My own path began at sixteen, when I realized the answers I sought wouldn’t come from one sacred book. I wanted to question everything — not to rebel, but to learn. That curiosity led me into neo-shamanism, elemental hermeticism, chaos magic, and Taoist alchemy. Over the years, I synthesized what worked, discarded what didn’t, and built my own systems — not as replacements, but as experiments in how consciousness and intention interact with reality.
Every magical act, to me, is an inquiry:
What happens when I shift this variable?
What principle underlies this effect?
How can I replicate it?
That’s the experimental mindset — the magician as scientist of the unseen, testing the boundary between imagination and manifestation.
Simplicity, Surrender, and the Real Work
Magic doesn’t need to be complex. The shortest path between intention and manifestation is clarity. I’m not interested in inflated language or performative mystery; I’m interested in results. But those results depend on something deeper than willpower — they depend on surrender.
Much of my men’s work, and my own spiritual path, revolves around this truth: real magic begins where control ends. As a submissive man, I’ve learned that surrender isn’t weakness — it’s presence. The same principle applies in spellcraft: you focus, you act, and then you release the result. You let the magic in. You allow the transformation to occur through you.
That’s why I often say: Magic isn’t just what you do — it’s who you become in the process.
